Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro review

Smart watches have now become a standard in terms of accessories. Huawei firm has been coming up with smart watch models for a long time, and we can say that they have made a good progress in this regard. The Huawei Wath GT 3 Pro model, which I have been testing for a while, is a model that stands out especially with its Harmony OS support. Now let’s take a look at both the design and features of this watch.

Box contents and battery life

First of all, when we look at the contents of the box, a standard content welcomes us. As soon as you lift the cover Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro you are encountering. On the right side of the box, there is a charging cable along with the documents we have not read. The charging apparatus, which has a magnetic structure, sticks directly to the bottom of the watch.

By the way, let us remind you that the watch has wireless charging support. In other words, if you have a wireless charging station or if you are using a reverse charging phone such as the Huawei Mate 40 Pro, you can charge your watch in this way in case of emergency. The Watch GT 3 Pro, which has a 790 mAh battery, has a 3-4 day charging time even when you use all its features. If you choose the ultra-long battery life mode that restricts the features, you can use it for up to 21 days. In short, battery performance has been one of the most important aspects of this watch, as in other models of the company.

Design and Display features

When we look at the dial of the watch, we see two physical keys. The first of these keys has a roller structure and besides the task of reaching the menu of the watch, it also helps you in subjects such as zooming and scrolling. The other button is reserved for sports activities. A wide range is presented in this regard. Because as soon as you press this button, you can access sports activities such as skiing, snowboarding and rowing, apart from the classic training modes such as running, climbing, parkour, cycling and swimming. By the way, our watch is water resistant up to 50 meters. You can also assign a different feature for the second button from the settings section. In other words, if you are not a person who does sports very often, you can also assign shortcuts such as alarm, map or weather.

A titanium structure is used in the body of the watch, which has a weight of 63 grams. When we look at the screen, we see a scratch-resistant sapphire glass. The screen part, which has a size of 1.43 inches, can also be controlled completely by touch. Amoled panel is used on this screen, which has a resolution of 466 x 466. It makes you feel the screen quality in every situation. moreover, I can say that with its 1000 nits value, it has a structure suitable for use in all conditions. I did not encounter any problems when using it even under the sun these days when we are scorching from the heat.

Interface and applications

Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro review

In our Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro review content, let’s talk about the interface and application support of the watch. The interface of the watch is designed very simple and useful. Thanks to the Huawei Health application, you can change the dials of the watch you connect to your phone, both on the app and on the watch. To change it on the clock, simply press and hold the screen. I must say that a much wider range awaits you in this regard compared to the first models. Apart from the paid interfaces, you can also access many free interfaces.

When you swipe the watch to the right, you can access the weather forecast, and swipe to the left, such as activity records, instant heart rate tracking, and oxygen in the blood. You are also allowed to change the applications that you can access from here by swiping one more click. When you scroll down, you reach the battery, connection status and hotkeys. When you swipe up, the notification screen appears. From here, you can browse the mail, twitter, message or whatsapp notifications you receive. But there is no option to reply. I can say that this is the biggest deficiency in the notification section.

The biggest annoyance in Huawei’s early models was in the notification and store applications. We can say that the company has taken important steps in this regard with each new model. We also see examples of this in the Watch GT 3 Pro model. You can connect the watch directly via wi-fi and download the application you want from the Huawei store. This is, of course, a part that still needs improvement. In other words, you cannot provide a spotify control, but it is possible to reach many more applications compared to the first models.

Speaker and microphone support is also included in the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro model, which also has GPS and e-sim support. In other words, it is possible to make phone calls directly from the watch. The speaker volume is a little low, but I can say that it does a very good job on the microphone side. It would be nice if we could also use this microphone as dictation when replying to messages in notifications. Maybe it will come with an update.

Another challenging aspect of the watch is its constantly working sensors. Apart from sports activities, it also has features such as heart rate, sleep monitoring and measuring oxygen in the blood. You can access all these statistics on the watch, and you can look at them in much more detail thanks to the Health application. It also has features that we have not encountered before, such as measuring body temperature, but it is stated that features such as e-sim and such will be active with the next updates.

Harmony OS

Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro review

The most important feature of the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro model, which has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of Storage, is that it has Harmony OS support, as I mentioned at the beginning. Huawei’s new operating system brings with it an important ecosystem on new devices. This model also has the feature of being the first model to support this operating system on the smart watch side.

Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro review final word

The international price of the watch is set at 500 euros. As of the moment I shot the video, it has a price of 5700 TL in our country, along with the Freebuds 3 gift. In other words, when we compare it, I can say that it entered our country with a good price, but the normal price of the watch is already high. Frankly, I did not fully understand why Huawei made such a pricing. This price is very high compared to its competitors and is at a level that will put its place in the market difficult.

As a result, the Huawei Wacth GT 3 Pro has become a model that stands out with its stylish design, ergonomic structure, Harmony OS support, sensor and battery time. Despite some shortcomings with its screen structure and features, it was indeed a successful and enjoyable watch to use. The price is confusing, but if you don’t have a budget problem and you have Harmony OS supported devices, I can say that it is a model you should take a look at.
